Week 19

well for those of you who dont know, and i dont know who that would be, we are having an angel like me! a girl you num nuts! i cant tell you how excited we both are! we have chosen the name Madison Taylor so the stream of name suggestions like rumplesteltskin can come to an end; weve got it under control. and im talking to you honey. we have also started to make nursery plans and thus far have an idea for a mural and chosen the wall color. its a very soft and light shade of purple called misty lilac. when we, and i mean you again david, get done painting it will be beautiful! as far as the mural, we'd like to have a castle fit for a princess on the wall behind madison's crib. sounds magical huh? i think so!

now as far as the baby herself: she is doing well and the last ultrasound didnt show anything that we should be worried about. she is developing at a normal rate, has a healthy heartbeat, and all other organs are strong. her brain however is larger than normal which forces me to assume that she must be getting all the smarts from her mother...Madison weighed 6 oz and was 6 inches long at the beginning of last week and according to my your-baby-as-fruit website, she is the size of a mango this week.

sorry the pictures arent so clear, but you get the idea: someone is really in there!

awwwwwwwww!

now usually i would leave some final fun developmental facts here about the baby, but, well...nothing is really going on. her organs are continuing to grow rapidly and i read something about a wax starting to form on her skin. snooze fest, i know. but as she gets bigger and i start to feel her kicking me, i will definitely keep you all posted! thanks for everyones support and excitement, we appreciate and love you all!

Week 14

welcome back everyone! whew, much has happened in the past four weeks so i'll jump right into the goodies:

the beginning of the second trimester is everything i expected: irritability, weight gain, increased appetite, absentmindedness...i'm just glad its david and not me! hehe. but seriously, i am still feeling fine with little to no pregnancy symptoms; just a minor headache here and there. we went to see our doctor this past friday and i'm happy to report that baby moore is still safely tucked away in my belly even though we cant tell theres any baby at all. we were able to hear the heartbeat for the first time, and luckily, as said by dr. morton, she found it quickly and easily. she also reported that baby's heart was beating at a healthy 155 beats per minute. sounds good to me! our next visit is in four weeks, and, now hold your breath, we'll know if we'll be having a sweet angel like myself or a, well, a boy like david! it seems things are happening so quickly!

i know all of you will be disappointed to see there are no new postings of the baby, so i took the liberty of posting a few pictures of our halloween weekend. the hosts of the party did an excellent job on decorating and there were plenty of interesting people to talk to. unfortunately, and surprisingly for us, mine and david's charm didn't work its usual magic on our new friends. and as you can see below, despite our continued efforts, davids new friend couldn't even bare to make eye contact with him as he awkwardly shifted his eyes while my target was literally bored to death!

i hope everyone had a fun halloween weekend! now time to start preparing for thanksgiving! i'll wrap this post up with a few more fun baby facts for us all:

  • behavioral differences are developing like the rate at which their mouths move: more if she's a girl, less if he's a boy. no smart comments necessary.
  • baby is the size of a lemon this week and will graduate to an orange by next week. and if my emotions continue on this roller coaster, i'll be going bananas soon. no, thats week 21...
  • baby is also able to start making facial expressions like frowning and squinting
  • s/he can start grasping things and may already be sucking their thumb. awwwwww!

WEEK 10

ok, so i decided to start a blog about the baby so everyone will know how things are moving along. im already becoming one of THOSE moms! todays pictures include last weeks ultrasound (yes, im already running behind) and this past weekends exciting engagement. and yes again, they are all pictures of me and the ring, but thats what its about right? i hope you all enjoy!

fun 10 week baby facts:
  • baby weighs about the same as four paper clips
  • s/he has formed toes (and not tiny ones if theyre like daddys)

  • ears and the upper lip are forming

  • the embryo has now graduated to a fetus and celebrates by losing its tail (and in our case, its horns as well)
